Matt Chandler = The Dane Cook of Preaching

I'm probably the only one who can hear a resemblance between the two, but if you listen closely, you will agree.

I first heard Matt Chandler speak via a video download from Desiring God. Since then, I've been listening to him pretty steadily, and rate him umongst the most gifted, God centered pastors around. If you've got space on your iPod, you need to subscribe to The Village Church podcast. You won't be sorry.

Here are a few video sections of him preaching. The first one is from the Advance conference, and he's talking about the De-Churched, meaning those who are functional atheists, who have believed in God, but don't trust him with their whole lives. The second Matt sharing his frustration at pastors who don't understand the grace of Christ and who harm people with their legalistic deism.

Mike....I'd only heard Matt Chandler one other time. That second clip is amazing. That was the best four minutes of my week. And I completely agree with him (and I presume you) on the legalism of religion. What he said sounds a lot like some of the stuff I've heard from Donald Miller...ever listen to his stuff?

I feel the same way....I cant get enough of his sermons...and you aren't the only one who can hear the Dane Cook resemblance.

Haha...I keep telling people the same thing! He is the Dane Cook of preaching. Not just in the delivery but in the sheer ability to take what is commonly overlooked in life and to make a point of it (just as Dane Cook would make a joke of it).
